On Prayer

The Bible asks us to pray for one another!
“If Christ Himself needed to retire from time to time to the mountain-top to pray, lesser men need not be ashamed to acknowledge that necessity.” B. H. Streeter

“A man who loves the Bible will love to pray. A man who loves to pray will delight in the law of the Lord.” EM Bounds

“Civilization is littered with unsolved problems, baffling impasses. The best minds of the world are at the end of their tether. The most knowledgeable observers of our condition are badly frightened. The most relevant contribution that Christians make at these points of impasse is the act of prayer -- determined, repeated, leisurely meetings with the personal and living God. New life is conceived in these meetings.” Eugene H. Peterson

“There are times when we cannot pray in words, or pray as we ought; but our inarticulate longings for a better life are the Spirit's intercessions on our behalf, audible to God who searches all hearts, and intelligible and acceptable to Him since they are the voice of His Spirit, and it is according to His will that the Spirit should intercede for the members of His Son.” Henry Barclay Swete

Prayer Requests

Please pray for our Brothers in Christ!

Please pray for the people of Belfast; as they experience religious fighting in the city. The people of Willowfield Parish need your thoughts and prayers as they cope with violence and hatred on the streets.

Please pray for Steve and His family
My name is Steve Bellingham and my wife’s name is Jessica Bellingham. My wife and I were members of Dessert Vineyard for several years. On july 31st 2010 we were on a flight to England for a 3 week vacation when my wife suddenly passed away in mid flight, she was only 42 years old. I am trying to make arrangements now to bring my wife back home to the USA so i can set up the funeral services as i am currently still in the United Kingdom.
The only good thing is that I have family out here in the UK who are helping me to make arrangements to get my wife and I home, but all I am asking from you is that you and your congregation pray for Me and my wife who which has passed away. This will be solely appreciated as I need all the support and prayers I can get.
Thank you very much, Yours Sincerely, Steve Bellingham

Lucinda Colvin's niece Emily Taylor was in a car accident and broke her back. She is going to have back surgery, Doctors said she might be paralyzed for life. Please join me and lift her up in prayer.
Thank you

Please pray for John Quincy and his family on the loss of his job due to loss of a security clearance; I am busily searching for jobs. If you could have the guys pray for my family and I, it would be appreciated. For whatever reason, I get discouraged when filling out applications, writing resumes and creating cover letters. Please have them pray that I won't be discouraged and regretful for what happened.

Please pray for Vivian Kahler. She goes to our Church and is the Mother of Clarence Schmitz who is part of Mike's Bible Study! She has been going through a struggle with Cancer the past few years and has become Cancer free, but all the surgeries and Chemotherapy that she has had has taken it’s toll on her. Please also pray for Clarence and their family for strength and hope in this very difficult time!

Please pray for Ted Coward's sister Pam and her family as she continues to struggle with a brain tumor. She is recovering from surgery in which they removed much of the tumor, however her doctors believe she will only survive six months to one year.

Please pray for the Men of the Desert Vineyard and our families that we would move towards God and His will for our lives individually and corporately.

Please pray for men that feel God calling them to serve, to respond to Him in obedience and love.

“I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

By your daily choices, you will make your home what you want it to be.”
